HM Land Registry (HMLR)
A government agency responsible for recording who owns what land in England & Wales. Whenever a property is purchased or mortgaged you are required to register the transaction at HMLR who charge a fee to the purchaser to update their records. The fee is related to value of the property. Your quote will tell you how much the fee will be.
